Cindy McCain’s taxes

Posted by James McPherson on May 14, 2008

One would expect it from liberals. But it’s a particularly bad sign for a Republican nominee when the Washington Times criticizes the candidate’s wife. I expect that once the real presidential race gets underway, Cindy McCain–a rich society woman with a former drug and theft problem, along with (horrors!) a mind (though perhaps no recipes) of her own–will be every bit the problem for John that some people think Michelle Obama might be for Barack. More so, if the phony political construct of “elitism” really matters.

[May 26 update: Apparently never doesn’t really mean never. Cindy McCain released two summary pages of her 2006 returns, showing $6.1 million in income. Of course she released them on the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend, on the same day that her husband released pages of his medical records.]
